![]() IK there’s a lot of legal aspects in terms of rights that I have a basic idea of but don’t fully understand. I hope they do something or at least give the rights to someone else. ![]() What they have done with it or what they plan to do idk. System Shock 3 (as others here have said) isn’t being worked on by Otherside anymore sadly, Starbreeze had issues and now Tencent has is. And Nightdive Studios has the remake of the first game releasing soon as well as the enhanced edition + VR port of the second game and likely a remake of the second game depending how the first performs financially. Nightdive Studios (current owner of the franchise) unfortunately can’t do anything about it.Ĭurrently that team is working on a completely new ip. What we do know is that it’s unlikely for us to see anything new regarding it anytime soon. It still isn’t 100% confirmed that the game got completely cancelled or if it’s just in an indefinite development hell put aside until Tencent gives them the green light to continue. The statement was quite literal in that it was up to Tencent to move it forward. What wasn’t mentioned until recently by him was that the team legitimately hasn’t touched the project since then. When that happened, they made an official statement that Tencent was gonna bring the franchise forward. Warren Spector a while ago mentioned that the last time his team worked on SS3 was when his company (Otherside Entertainment) and the licensing rights for SS sequels was sold off to Tencent.
